I'm 100% with you on liking strict rhyme+meter. But can someone tell me why it feels like so many poets today are trying too hard to be hipster-like and 'deep' with their overly simplistic stanzas?? and I found the different meters, plots, and rhyme schemes elaborate and well-done. If my poetry was ever 'constructed artificially' or became something mechanical put out on a page, it would no longer be poetry, just something dull and lifeless.
