It is much brighter than the previous gen and is reasonably daytime bright. 16% MwSt. I don't know that there is a functional difference or practical advantage, but after playing with the ETR, I could find myself thinking the SIII's bump out was a bit bigger.

Some people have reported getting models that had larger center dots, and there is some SIII literature to support that, so be careful which one you buy. To me it looks like a fine floating dot. I played spot the difference, and honestly - it was pretty tough.

The Ares ETR has a very large eyebox forwards and backwards, and a smaller eyebox side-to-side than it seems the PST II does.
