âPolice Storyâ is still one of Jackie Chanâs best films. The final absolute daring Jackie Chan stunt is one of the greatest in film history that needs to be seen to believe, it is a landmark in action movies, a great stunt pulled off from one of the greatest stuntmen ever, Jackie Chan. Yes he still had Jackieâs trademark comedic touch at times, but he was still pretty dark by the finale. The synthesized score is music to mousse one’s hair by. Seeing Ka-Kui with Selina made her feel jealous as she had no clue who she was (Selina was wearing his jacket and sexy skimpy lingerie clothing at the time), so the detective had to explain that she was just a witness under his police protection. Who can forget the technical Woo Ping timing, blocking, kicking and punching and various skill sets that were all visible to the eye in those earlier films? Kim Newman wrote in the Monthly Film Bulletin, that Police Story starts well with its car chase described as an "astonishing set-piece", but that "once the mix of realistic settings and fantasy action seems to have been established, the film falls back on Chan's clowning and turns into a slapstick comedy heavily dependent on cake-in-the-face jokes."

In this film Jackie Chan stars as the tough determined honest cop, Sergeant âJackie Chan Ka-Kui.â The Buster Keaton comedy influence is yet again prevalent (check the funny scene when Jackieâs in the police precinct answering 4 or 5 telephones at once). Brave Detective âChan Ka-Kuiâ played amazingly by international superstar Jackie Chan was apart of the sting operation. Police Story 3 (Chinese: 警察故事3超級警察, or Supercop) was made in 1992. The fight goes off in the car park as the âChu Taoâ assassination team were sent to kill them both (or retain Selina), running at Jackie with silver baseball bats and trying to ram him with vehicles. Voila, ce que j’appelle de la vraie action avec des plans large, des combats, des chorégraphies et des cascades de ouf. A stunt near the end gets repeated at full length three times, from three different angles; this would seem like a display of narcissism if it weren’t one of the greatest stunts in the history of movies, right up there with the collapsing house in “Steamboat Bill, Jr.” and the final fall in “Sharky’s Machine.” There’s no sleight-of-hand involved in this magic, just death defying stunt work and efficient filmmaking that helps you appreciate it. Kevin’s girlfriend May (Maggie Cheung), who thinks Kevin’s cheating on her with Selina, argues with him on a steeply angled street while Kevin leans into the open passenger-side window of his car, serving as a human set of brakes because he accidentally left the vehicle in neutral.
