Welcome to /r/AMD — the subreddit for all things AMD; come talk about Ryzen, Threadripper, EPYC, Navi, the next-gen consoles, news, rumours, show-off your build and more. Not sure if difference is the same everywhere but i guess when 2600x is 219 euros and 2700x is 315 euros many will say it's not worth 100 euros more for 2cores more for gaming and they are probably right 100 euros is big difference. Ryzen 7 2700X; Ryzen 7 2700; Ryzen 5 2600X; Ryzen 5 2600; Ryzen 2; 546 Comments | Add A Comment. by then i'll have gotten enough value out of it i wont care. Yeah, for my Windows Gaming desktop, which is just a glorified entertainment box, I was seriously tempted to just buy a 2600X. It is calculated by adding the clock rates of each core or, in the case of multi-core processors employing different microarchitectures, of each group of cores. If your gaming and that is your primary heavy computer use then a 2600X is a much better value, the "gains" from a 2700X will not be worth the extra cost. Imo by the time you will actually need an 8c16t cpu for gaming, the Zen3 CPUs will probably be out, the 2600x is going to be a beast for years to come for gaming imo.
It can support faster memory, which will give quicker system performance. not necessarily, the GPU could be bottlenecked hugely by a lower end CPU.
We compare the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with a wide selection of benchmark tools and data to help you choose … Performance in single-threaded apps and benchmarks, Measure performance when all cores are involved, The efficiency score of electricity consumption.
a smaller(much smaller) factor was i know myself. Looks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser.
Ryzen 7 2700X or Ryzen 5 2600: what's better? i bought a 2700x because it was 100bucks for 2 more cores, a cooler thats worth using(still using it, struggling to justify a better one, i would definitely have spent 30-40 maybe more if i bought a 2600x) and i gambled that with more cores generally available and intel's 6cores hitting mainstream that games would shift to targeting 12threads and if so i still wanted a core or two available for other uses.
Small semiconductors provide better performance and reduced power consumption. I have the 1700x , but thats because i do stuff like compiling and running VMs , otherwise id have gone for a 1600x. With integrated graphics you don’t need to buy a separate graphics card.
Gaming benefits from 4 core (using all) and/or 6 core (2 extra cores for OS and other tasks are good). More memory channels increases the speed of data transfer between the memory and the CPU. The thermal design power (TDP) is the maximum amount of power the cooling system needs to dissipate. Supports hardware-assisted virtualization. Chipsets with a higher number of transistors, semiconductor components of electronic devices, offer more computational power. Newer versions can support more bandwidth and deliver better performance. A 32-bit operating system can only support up to 4GB of RAM.
That's a good point actually. Why is AMD Ryzen 7 2700 better than AMD Ryzen 5 2600X? A larger L1 cache results in faster CPU and system-wide performance. just gaming, casual streaming?
A higher transistor count generally indicates a newer, more powerful processor. We compared two desktop CPUs: the 3.7 GHz AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with 8-cores against the 3.4 GHz Ryzen 5 2600 with 6-cores. AES is used to speed up encryption and decryption. Thread ... some very light video encoding (most of that is done on other rigs/servers) In all seriousness the 5/2600 would be sufficient, would there be any real advantage other than bragging to use the 7/2700 ?? With the 2700x being 50% more expensive than the 2600x while only offering minor extra fps, would you still buy it?
The Ryzen 7 1700 is a standout option in particular as this 8-core/16-thread part is selling for $160, meaning you can either buy the R7 1700 or the R5 2600. Most benchmarks show the 2600x being equal or sometimes better than the 2700x. General overview and comparison of the processors, What are the key differences between 2600 and 2700X, Comparing the performance of CPUs in benchmarks, Full technical specification of AMD Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600. A larger L3 cache results in faster CPU and system-wide performance. Beyond that is waste (FOR GAMING).
These features, along with an IPC (instructions per cycle) number, determine how well a microprocessor performs.
Why is AMD Ryzen 7 2700X better than AMD Ryzen 5 3600?
These features, as well as an IPC (instructions per cycle) number, determine how well a microprocessor performs. 64-bit allows more than 4GB, giving increased performance. 8 x 3.7GHz vs 6 x 3.6GHz It's actually already overkill because when you have four, it'll pretty much use all of them. Only go for the 2700x if you have other uses like photo / video editing or if cost is not an issue and you just want the best.
Overall, with the 2600 at $117 and the 3600 at $189, the gains might not be worth it for you. But for saving almost 20% in cost, may be worth it. On this page, you'll find out which processor has better performance in benchmarks, games and other useful information. buy a 2600x. Versus uses cookies to improve your experience on the site. Either way, AMD's prices are all reasonable enough that I have not even an inkling of buyers remorse. it SEEMS like im right but too early to tell for sure.
I just hope that my cheap b350 asrock pro4 motherboard will be able to handle whatever amd releases for the AM4 socket in the next years so I can upgrade again without buying a new mobo.
