In Sydney, Chojnowska-Liskiewicz celebrated Christmas Eve visiting the home of the Zdanowski family – Poles whom she had met there. But she also had to endure many hardships, such as harsh weather conditions. Often, I had to tack quicker because of other ships. Her husband visited her once more and helped with the preparations for the final part of the voyage.
